Highly recommend reading random books from whatever public libraries you have access to. There's this book called Whiteoaks of Jalna that I read a chapter of whenever I'm in my university library, and it's basically a soap opera.
I tried to make a chart of the relationships. It's an M. This is a sequel and I'm keeping a list of all the drama that happened in the first one:
Grandmama turned one hundred and one
Piers' fiance, Pheasant, had an affair with Eden. This ruined his relationship with his wife, Alayne, and the two of them separately went to New York to write
Finch failed his matriculation exams and Renny won't let him study music anymore
Renny has been in love with Eden's wife Alayne all along, and it's only bc of her that Finch ever got music lessons in the first place
There are sixteen books in this series. It's absolutely wild. But my point is I'd never know about these books if they hadn't been across from the Lord Dunsany books, and I wouldn't have known about him if I hadn't read Lovecraft's Dream-Cycle. Go to the library!
