#40 - Jam On Bread - I Heart Labrador Records
During my brief period as a 'promoter' I think Jam On Bread played more shows for us than anyone else, making his worldwide debut performance at the first Jingle All The Dayer back in 2007, alongside other Dont Make Lists appearances Laura Groves, Cats In Paris and Yndi Halda. 3 years ago. Christ. Good timing posting this because Jam On Bread's first album has just been released via Team Strike Force with a newly recorded version improving on this one. You should definitely buy it because it's brilliant.
Jam on Bread is one man and his ukulele (a word which we have just learned means "jumping flea" in Tahiti. Just thought you should know) hailing from Grimsby via Manchester. He sings rather lovely songs on a range of topics, from record labels to sea mammals. "I wish I was a Manatee" is the one here, and he's pictured above playing at a previous Something Good, snapped by Mr Ian Rees. Head to Jam on Bread's Myspace and have a look.
