THE end of the day was something everybody looked forward to, especially evie. but, she truly lacked any perception of time when she was in and out of sessions around the clock. her job was fast paced for her, but perhaps stagnant for those in the other seat. she stood in front of the espresso machine waiting for her last patient of the day. everybody was extremely different but she had an open-mind and enthusiastic approach regardless. the chimes from the front of the office space indicated they’d arrived and she promptly swung open the door to the dimly lit room filled with the smell of coffee beans and a vanilla candle burning. 

❝ james, please come on in ! ❞ she invited him. ❝ i’m glad to see you. i bet we have tons to catch up on, ❞ she grabbed the mug filled to the brim with hot liquid. ❝ can i get you anything ? it’s full service around here, as you know. i’m a part time barista ! ❞ she laughed, setting her coffee down. ❝ water ? coffee ? tea ? ❞ possibly, tissues ? she thought to herself. ❝ just let me know. ❞

“No, oh - no, of course. Who is that voice?” He pauses, looking up to his right and left, shadows meeting his eyes as a smirk begins to twirl into his lips. Of course, he’d comply. “Another ghost perhaps? ...Is that you, uncle Bern? How lovely of you to visit me! For a second I thought -” he continues, roaring laughter threatening to sneak past his speech, but first he must give him hell for this. “I-I thought it was my mate, Moony. You know, Moony who’d never take advantage of his prefect duties and sneak off to see his lady. No, of course not, not the Moony I saw on the map. No, bah! It must be mistaken of course, the mark just appeared there just like that mark in this unknown phantom voice’s neck who I did not see at all in the halls. No, not at all.”
