James Potter | half-blood | born 2003-2004 | THE RESISTANCE
It didn’t take James very long to figure out that he wasn’t “really” a Potter. Maybe that’s why he and his dad always got along so well: Harry knew what it was like to grow up in a family where he looked “different” too -- but then again, since James’s family always took care to make sure he felt like family, maybe that’s got nothing to do with the strength of their bond. It might explain why James gave Albus such a hard time about all the ways in which he didn’t fit-in with the rest of them...or maybe that’s just how brothers are, sometimes. He does love his siblings of course, he just favors teasing over hugging and other mushy stuff; that’s something he got from his mum, not his dad. James doesn’t know exactly how things worked-out between them to cause him; all they’ve told him is that he was what helped them get through a rough patch. His mum promised never to let him date anyone he didn’t know he was related to and that’s all James really needs to know about that, he figures. Besides, he has more important things to deal with right now -- namely, saving the world. He’s looking forward to that, weird as it sounds, and not because he thinks he has something to prove; he just knows it’s something he’ll be good at, and James has always enjoyed any chance to show-off his skills.
