In March 1938, Bing Crosby was married to singer, actress, and dancer Dixie Lee and had 4 children at home: a 4 year old, two 3 year olds, and a 3 month old baby. Interesting that he's known to be married to another public figure and has children, yet the gossip magazines were hinting at a romance with Mary Carlisle. More digging indicates that these photos were taken November 7th, 1937 at the Hollywood Lakeside golf club and there are nearly identical photos at slightly different angles, so it was likely a press event, especially as they have films together in 1937 and 1938. Mary Carlisle, for her part, would go on to marry James Blakeley in 1942 and they remained married until his death in 2007 at the age of 96! Mary Carlisle herself lived to be 104 years old and died only 7 years ago, in 2018!
