Watching my first Sherlock Holmes movie with Basil Rathbone ("Dressed to Kill", 1946) and so far I like Rathbone's performance

gotta say though I was not expecting them to cast a Watson who looked so much older than Holmes. like irl Nigel Bruce was three years younger than Rathbone but it does not look like it on film

it's so hard to pick a favourite but added some more under the cut!

I really love this one taken at his home (1940)

and I love these on set photos: The Adventure of Robin Hood (1938), The Court Jester (1956), Son of Frankenstein (1939) and Comedy of Terrors (1963)

oh and I like this one because he's all sweaty :)
