In a fitting echo of the show & the expedition, yesterday I committed an act of hubris my ego struggled to survive. I thought I'd finished my Erebite elephants:

But it turns out I just straight up forgot to make two of them. RIP in peace Mr Rigden, Captain's Coxswain and Mr Mark, AB, I don't know how I missed you but I'm remedying it now!

Today's ellies are the two captain's coxswains and the two captains of the forecastle. The coxswains are the guys in charge of the rowing team & the maintenance of the little boat either of the captains would use to navigate between the two big ships -- that's the captain's cox and these guys are the "swains" - the bosses, of these coxes. It's pronounced cocks-son and I just kinda love that word.

Because I just love the way the word is (similar to coxswain), I decided that the two captains of the forecastle belong with these guys. The captains of the forecastles are in charge of stuff at the pointy/front end of the boat, even though Terror and Erebus don't actually have forecastles (fo'c'sles - fow-k-sules in my accent) because by the time they were built, having an actual little building up the front of the ship was no longer necessary, the region a fore-castle would be is still the forecastle and still needs its captain. They probably had a lot to do with the anchors and their ropes, as these are up the front.

 Here is James's essentials to pack ready for our early Monday morning flight. Traveling with two girls I sure hope he's packing light... 1. My Passport..so I can GO! 2. My I-phone for tunes and ear-phones so I don't have to use these second hand average ones they give you on the plane. 3. My laptop to get some work done, and pencil case fully equipped! 4. Credit Cards to eat good food and shop up a storm. 5. Boardies for a swim at Clovelly.

Oh....and a fake Bell & Ross so I can do the ol' switch-a-roo when trying on the real one in Sydney DFS. I am in love with this watch and want it real bad!!
