plot: James gets home early from a long day of work, only to find reader and Harry ready to surprise him.

James Potter had a difficult job, of course he wouldn't complain since he got to work with his best friends but being an auror meant almost never being home with his beautiful wife and son, which is why he was so excited when he heard he could go home early.
As he passed the front door of the small cottage the Potter family lived in and heard the giggles of his (y/n) and Harry, his heart felt like it was about to burst with love. He followed the angelic sounds to the kitchen, where Harry giggled as his mom played pika-boo with him by putting some of the freshly baked cookies in front of his eyes.
James couldn't help but smile himself at the display, quietly coming over and hugging his wife from behind causing her to let out a small scream before realising it was the love of her life. She kissed him as Harry called out to him.
How could James ever complain when he was blessed with such an amazing family?
