@james-winston I’m of two minds about this, honestly. On the one hand, it is infinitely frustrating to see dozens of tweets and posts that are all like “Wow, I’ve always heard Yoko broke up the Beatles but she literally isn’t doing anything in this footage! Guess that means she had absolutely nothing to do with it!” Because while she did not break up the Beatles, she was a critical factor in the breakup. It’s the typical irritating pendulum swing where people who don’t know the whole story will go from one extreme to the other without acknowledging the grey areas that absolutely exist.
On the other hand, I have no clue how Jackson could have possibly incorporated the context of her being there and how it disrupted things without ripping open the can of worms you’ve described. I also would rather people not place all of the blame on her; to be blunt, if people are going to continue to engage with this story in an un-nuanced, surface level way (and everyone who isn’t a superfan will), I would much rather people blame Klein for it than Yoko. It’s not the whole truth, but it does hew closer to it than placing all the blame on Yoko does, in my opinion.
