Hiii uh blood warning beneath the cut . Uhh it's the monstrumologist fandom so i'm sure yall understand but ... just in case...
sometimes i think about Warthrop never getting to properly say goodbye to James, the only man who ever loved him unconditionally, and then i have to go curl up in a ball and cry
Some good ol' James and Pellinore doodles
hhhhmm must ... draw.. jamesinore ... blaaah anyways yep super hate them im going to go on small rant hmmm. uhh i dont think that james got the worms on accident considering when kearns was saying how he met james, both james and pellinore were out looking for thr worm thing . Personally, considering pellinore was kinda wack about immortality i'd imagine james got it on purpose to "continue on his work" and it just spiraled out of control and that's (partially) why warthrop feels so guilty or whatever th hell sigh . Then again idk cuz why didn't warthrop get it whatever whatever ignore this this is probably a basic take and i don't remember if it's ever said but yolo
James William Henry Moodboard (The Monstrumologist)
i feel like my husband and i are the only "james henry and pellinore warthrop were desperately in love" truthers on this godforsaken planet and their love is so important to me i need to shout it from the rooftops.
pellinore is so painfully haunted by the loss of his soulmate that he kept the one thing he had left of him on earth, his son- in a vain attempt to keep his memory with him, in a twisted effort to do right by james, in a horrible display of selfishness and grief and loneliness. he subjected will to the horrors his father knew all too well despite having plenty of resources to care for the child outside of bringing him into his field of study. he ignores the counsel of pretty much every adult who sees this boy and tells pellinore he has no place in the dark world of monstrumology. his soul was mortally wounded by james' death, and like victor frankenstein himself, he tried to stitch himself together again, sacrificing will's childhood- his humanity, even- in the self-serving, self-mutilating process. he creates a bond so wicked it serves no one, not himself, not will henry, and not the ghost of the man he loved more than anything.
