"You don't think .. Like we need to worry about ghosts, do we?" "Y'know, I never really thought about it...I mean, I haven't met a ghost personally, but if they do exist, you'd think I'd run int' them more often."

Virgil was a nerd, has been since as long as he could remember and like most nerds, Virgil had gargantuan amounts of anxiety when it came to those that he had feelings for, being Bisexual in Chicago meant that anxiety sky-rocketed from it’s post of the nerdy stratosphere. Whether fortunate or not, Virgil also had a tendency to talk more when he got nervous. And boy was Virgil nervous right now and it showed. It showed his whole hand and his feelings right now. Virgil was devastated, embarrassed. Wishing he could find a hole to just crawl into. His host didn’t seem to mind, although Virgil was certain that Jamie wasn’t interested and his heart sank a little. Well that was until Jamie smiled and Virgil melted. I Guess we’ll see where th’ night takes us indeed. Virgil keep some hope and at the very least he had grained a new friend who happens to be a fan of cinema, and a potentially new ally to help Virgil be Static, t’ boot. So all is not lost even if Jamie is not in fact interested in Virgil.
“Mhmmm” Virgil hummed in amused agreement with Jamie’s assessment of them seeing where the night goes.
“Hell yeah! Expansive. Sounds like this’ll be a blast and a lot better night than I had planned.” Virgil chuckled. When Jamie asked him to help out Virgil’s eyes lit up and he sprang into action.
“Yeah! Sure thing, man!” Virgil slide past Jamie and into the kitchen. Then trying to move again but without the traction Virgil began sliding in place until he put is hand out and snapped, causing a small spark of electricity to pop and send him sliding toward the fridge, where Virgil grabbed the fridges and slide safely to a stop. Virgil chuckled to himself, as he had fun, the quibbles still in his stomach from sliding across the floor. Popping open the fridge, Virgil makes a face at the choices, he grabs a few more of what they had been having. They weren’t bad but they weren’t what Virgil was used to drinking but he’d never let Jamie know any of that. Virgil closed the fridge and headed back to Jamie and the coffee table, walking this time, sans sliding. Virgil puts the beers on the coffee table, two in front of Jamie and two where he was about to sit on the couch, giving Jamie some space, if he were to sit on the couch, with plenty of elbow room, but also not so far that if Jamie wanted to sit closer…

Her mutant file designated her as the digits [J3N]. Who's knows why other than to dehumanize her and give her a 'number', as it were. He file stated that they had acquired [J3N], as an infant, from some Black Market auction to buy mutants, so needless to say that [J3N] did not know who her parents were, or whether she had any siblings. The facility did all kinds of experiments to her, from the time that they had purchased her, no faux parental figures, no acting like they loved her to get her to do things. It was all sterile, medical, very clinical. Eventually, as [J3N] got older and her mutation finally activated, they continued to do the experiments but eventually there was less scientists and more military-like personnel. Once [J3N] had some semblance of control of her mutation, they began training her, turning her into a child soldier, and once it was shown that she could refract the light-waves to make her eyes not seem like their natural state of the red irises with the black where there would usually be the white in the sclera, that the facility could train her in being a mutate sleeper agent. [J3N]'s eyes were the same as the eyes of her brother, Remy LeBeau, although neither knew that the other existed at this point, let alone that they were or even had a sibling. The facility trained her to make her sclera be white, not black and her irises seem like a ruddy amber brown color, to fit into normal society, and not be suspected as a mutant and could be used to infiltrate places and retrieve valuable information or, if need be, assassinate a necessary target. After 14 years going through that hell an opportunity presented itself to [J3N], one of the other test subjects that had been in there a few times, she had even escaped at least once, and was unfortunately caught and brought back to the facility. This time though, the subject known as Anya Barnes, her father came back with her, but more like a wrecking ball in tow. Bucky Barnes came in fast to save his daughter, [J3N] offering her unique abilities, including her minor precognitive abilities to help them to escape from the facility. Once they had escaped, [J3N] ended up staying with her new found family, the Barnes'. Bucky, and Natasha raising their two kids Anya and Jamie and now [J3N] or as she came to be known, Jenny or Jen.
Jenny stood on the front porch of the small house that she, and the Barnes family, were staying in. The sun had just recently melted behind the tree line, a cool summer evening breeze blew through Jenny's red hair, as she watched the sunset. It hadn't been more than a month since Anya and her escape. Everything was still fresh. Jenny wasn't even sure who she was, what she liked. She liked watching the sunset, she liked feeling the breeze. Jenny knew that for sure. She sat down on the warped boards of the rickety front porch, and sighed in relaxation.

Jubilee had this thing where she loved trying to hack into the Danger Room. Why you might ask. To make it into a giant VR game. VR being Virtual Reality for those not in the loop. She couldn't quiet get past the built in security system that prevented just this. That was probably in part Jubilee's fault. Oops. A 16 year old, Jubilation Lee stood outside the Danger Room doors, that she did know how to crack into. That was cake, it was the panel in the control room that she had trouble with. Jubilee debated if she wanted to give it another shot. Jubilee sighed. Nah, not today. She decided that she wanted to work on bettering her knowledge and skills first. She shrugged and walked away. Who was that for? huh? As Jubilee turned the corner she saw someone there, at the end of the hall near the elevator. She hadn't even heard the thing chime. What the fuck? Was that a teacher? Maybe Scott? "Yo Scott. Is that you, man? Just goin for a walk, ya know? Trying th' not sneaking out thing. Kinda got me stir crazy." Jubilee began walking towards the figure. Definitely male. Wait he's kinda young. Oh wait! That's one of the other new students. "Oh shit. I'm sorry, dude. I thought ya was Scott. I'm Jubilee." Jubilee's tone was cheerful, but that was nothing new, other than it was dialed a little bit up trying to introduce herself to a guy. Jubilee held out her hand as a greeting with her introduction.

[X-MANSION. : 1 9 8 9]
Six years had passed since the twins had been taken under the watchful eyes of the X-Men. Three solid years had been spent at the school in order to better harness and control their abilities, as well as to STAY SAFE after they had finally gotten away from their captors for a SECOND TIME. Jamie and Anya were both quick learners, and they were adaptable by habit as well as design. Even if it was largely in part due to their past failures having elicited HARSH PUNISHMENTS, it had still served them well in the end.
Neither of them were conventional learners, but they stood out with their progress. After GRADUATING, as it were, the two Barnes children had gone to expand their horizons, while also working to try to help others similar to themselves. They spent more time coming into their own personalities as well, Logan having served as a paternal figure that didn't filter his thoughts, which was incidentally exactly what the twins needed at that juncture of their life.
At the age of 22, Jamie and Anya were about as well-adjusted as they could be. Then again, there were VERY FEW 22 year olds that were REALLY adjusted to anything that life had to offer. Jamie and Anya might not have been top of the class anymore, necessarily, but it felt pretty great to be able to just feel like HIMSELF.
Besides, they were doing their best.
On that day, they had found themselves visiting at the mansion, as the twins were wont to do every now and then. It had been a longer little while since their last class reunion, so to speak, this time around, but it didn't really seem to be a real problem. He still felt plenty welcome within the halls that had once been so intimidating. He had just gotten done catching up with the Professor, and was left to his own devices. He took a deep breath and allowed the nostalgia to wash over him with a warm smile.
He headed out to the massive yard behind the mansion and took the steps that it took to get to the basketball court.

As a rule, the Barnes family traveled a lot. They still had a home base, a place in Brooklyn that they'd called home since Ana and their father had defected from HYDRA and the Red Room. There was a special place in Jamie's heart for that place, even as a young adult now. He had his own apartment (though he rarely stayed there if he could help it), and he helped aid his family in the emancipation of those that had been taken by the same monsters that had separated their family when Jamie and Ana had just been babies. He was enhanced, like both of his parents, but he had never been eager to fight. If he absolutely had to, he would and could, but he still preferred not to.
That was why, when he walked past a bodega on his way home to his apartment for once and saw that it was being robbed...he huffed a sigh and cursed under his breath. He knew the guy that ran the place, he was really decent.
He lamented the lack of other heroes, or even cops, but he didn't have time to dwell on that if he was going to help. There were two men involved in the robbery, both of them armed with guns. He reached into his pocket and grabbed two electric disks that were based off of his mother's gadgets. He activated them as he pushed the front door open with his shoulder and as soon as he had his chance, he tossed the disks at both men. They'd aimed their weapons at him when he'd come into the bodega but their hands seized under the electricity. One of them caused their gun to misfire, but he had managed to be out f the way and it thankfully was fired into the back wall rather than the bullet hurting anyone.
Once the cops were called, Jamie was sure to get ready to leave, being sure to grab his disks off of the unconscious men. He was pretty skilled at not being tracked by then.
When he was out on the sidewalk, he gave pause when he saw someone...riding some kind of disk. He briefly wondered about the tech, but upon seeing the logo, he pieced together that this was likely one of those heroes he could have used.
