Let me preface this like I always do. I HATE doing these. I feel bad for asking and begging but with our current financial situation, I don't have a choice.

Our roof needs a complete overhaul. The house was built in 1997, and my wife, then-girlfriend, and her family moved in at 2017. Over the years we couldn't afford to get this house properly fixed up. After my mother-in-law passed away and my wife lost her job due to pregnancy, it has been a financial struggle until 2024 when we got a new financially stable job. Or so we thought.

My wife and I lost our jobs back in April. My mother in NJ is helping us financially to keep us from being homeless, but won't help with big projects like this. Our roof is in danger of collapsing due to 20+ years of disrepair, meaning we also have a chance of being homeless if this isn't taken care of right away.

We desperately need your help. The project involves replacing the shingles and the gutters to upkeep of the house.

Why am I asking for this much? Taxes. If I come up short because of Taxes, I can't get the roof fixed. But also, with the recent rains we had all July, there is a possibility that we have wood rotting underneath the shingles, and those are $75 a replacement.

Why am I using GoFundMe instead of PayPal? PayPal requires now that I use their donation services which also get Taxed. But also, it's PayPal. I don't entire trust them and their policies as much.

Have I been looking for a job? Yes. To the point that I have no choice but to start going to school to get some sort of certification to make me more desirable, as the job market in Winston-Salem is garbage.

I know this looks Hella pretentious but I swear it's not for me.

This past April, my wife and I lost a good paying job. We have been struggling to find a job and make ends meet while my mom in NJ is helping us (begrudgingly I might add, does a lot of complaining for something she willingly chose to do herself). We have bills and mortgage covered for the most part, groceries is touch and go.

But my son who is as of this post 1 and a half years old has now been walking around the house like CRAZY. We couldn't afford baby proofing stuff, and now it's starting to bite us.

The only thing we ask is for the things on the list to help make our house safer for him. Might get more if necessary. Things change. If you can't afford it, I understand completely, and I encourage reblogging and sharing this post to others who might be in a position to help.

This is the biggest struggle of our life right now, and while we are searching for a job and possible preschools and day cares, every little bit helps.

North Carolina had some snow recently and our driveway is completely iced. It's taking some time to melt because it keeps dipping below freezing. We also don't have enough money to buy more supplies until my next paycheck next week. We are running low on food.

So after everything was paid off last paycheck, and getting our bathroom repaired, we are now broke again until next Friday. Good news is that we have food we can cook, but not until tomorrow. I misjudged the longevity of our leftovers and had to throw out everything we could've eaten in our fridge.

Also my son is running out of breakfast foods. His pickyness is getting the best of us. I am asking just some donations for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow, as well as some small things to get my son more hashbrowns that will last him two weeks, and something else I can try to get him to eat please.

The last of our food spoiled, and my wife and I don't have much to eat. I also couldn't afford anything for a Valentines Dinner for us.
