Happy New Year's Eve Eve

How were your holidays?

Ours were good here. I went to bed Christmas Eve and woke up with the flu. 🤒 Today is the first day since that I've been out of bed for more than an hour. I've slept a lot. I'm somehow the only one who got sick (so grateful for that) and the kids had a good Christmas so they've been occupied. 🙏🙏🙏

Anyway, PSA, keep those hands washed guys. There's a lot of crud flying around out there...

I have a lot to catch up on, but I'll get there. In the meantime, I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and here's hoping that 2026 is better to us than THIS year has been...

I had a few movie recs I did get through this holiday season. I watched Honey, Don't. I think I'll watch that one again. Maybe I missed something. It wasn't quite what I expected.

I watched the new Superman. I'm not a huge James Gunn fan but I did like the movie. David Corenswet is a cutie. But I loved him too in Pearl.

I did watch Inception for a second (third?) time. It was really involved but I loved it. I love the ending, the way it was open to interpretation... And damned if I didn't come away with a story idea for a certain billionaire in that one...

Die My Love was amazing. Still traumatized by that one. Five Nights at Freddie's 2, awesome. (I played the game, don't judge me lol)

Tonight, FINALLY, I'm watching The Materialists. I'm excited. I've also been rewatching the Marvel films to get back into Steve and Bucky. More on that soon...

Also, one of you suggested a film called Disco Pigs to me. I did watch it and was just completely charmed by the film. All the way to the end... 😕🙁😟☹️🥺😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

OMG I mean, I don't regret it. But WHAT??? I'm not getting over that any time soon... 😭😭😭

I haven't really written a lot. I'm trying to get back on it today. I have a lot of reading recs too. But if you have any you'd like to send me, even if they are YOURS, gimme. I'm recuperating here. 🤒🙏🖤

I'm doing a volunteer day today at our local women's shelter but I'll be back tomorrow with the next chapter of Under His Skin and maybe Barber & Weiss...?

Good news

I kind of explained in an ask when I was last on here that there was an ongoing situation with the project I'm on for work. One person doesn't do his part and doesn't tell us until the last minute. We all work longer/weekends to make the deadlines. The rest of us have been really really pissed off.

First thing at the meeting I had to go into campus for today, we're told there's good news and bad news. The good news is he's being moved to another department. Effective immediately.

The bad news is we're one person short on the project. And honestly, we have been the entire time only now we can control the timeline.

I'm. So. HAPPY. This whole thing has been eating up a lot of my time since earlier this year. I'd like to get back to my family and my writing.

So thank you all for being patient with me. I'm pushing up my sleeves and getting caught up. 💕💕💕
