Jamie is such a pure sweetie. He is paralyzed and all he is worried about is Victoria and the Doctor rather than getting medical help for himself.
So this is the first appearance of Jamie McCrimmon. It's one of the earliest second doctor stories as well. Unfortunately the original footage for this episode had been lost and so we only have this novelization to rely on. As I'm exploring more and more of classic Who I find that I'm enjoying the second doctor a lot. I can see why he's one of the fan favorites and Jamie is just delightful.
