Under-Construction Bridge Collapses in Jammu, Workers Trapped as Rescue Operation Continues
A major accident occurred in the Bantalab area of Jammu after a portion of an under-construction bridge suddenly collapsed, trapping several workers under the debris.
According to initial reports, 6 workers were present at the site during the incident. So far, 2 have been rescued safely, while 4 remain trapped. Rescue operations are underway and becoming increasingly challenging with time.
Emergency response teams, including NDRF and SDRF, along with local police and fire services, are actively engaged in clearing the debris using heavy machinery while ensuring the safety of those still trapped.
Preliminary suspicions suggest that a weak foundation of the old structure may have contributed to the collapse. However, the exact cause will be determined after a detailed investigation.
