"The freezing person up in Canada is an invention. This, again, is a working ethos of the early lyrics. Set a scene and put some ghosts in it, then get excited about the ghosts."

Cryptid of the Week: Squonk
Squonk is a small cryptid native to the woods of Pennsylvania in the US. It's said to be extremely ugly, and knows it-- and so it cries constantly.
Descriptions of it include webbed feet, but only on the left, and loose, wrinkly skin.
In some accounts, attempts to capture it have ended only in disappointment: Squonk can cry itself into a puddle to avoid being captured.
