Reichis upon seeing literally anyone @ Kellen:
Kellen: You need an award for putting up with me.
Neph' aria: You are my award Kellen.
Reichis, Ferius (most people he meets) : Yeah you can be a real pain in the ass.
@books-crooks-cooks mentioned spellslinger card tattoos and I thought of :
You won't know this about me as a person rather than a book blog but I'm actually a tarot witch. I love tarot cards, and I love cards. I'm sure that's why I read shadowblack initially. The blue inverted card themed cover caught my eye right away.
This card design is so beautiful. Both the ones used and the alternative idea.
So I'd say the nine of leaves and the mechanical dragon (Which I'll post next) are my favourite of the spellslinger cards.
“I thought the Argosi told you to find water,” Reichis chittered, padding up the trail behind me. “Not make it appear from your eyeballs.”
“I’m not crying,” I said.
He gave his little “huh huh huh” sound that was his best imitation of human laughter.
I hated when he did that.

'and he and I were left huffing and puffing on the ground, neither of us with the strength to deal with the fact that we looked embarrassingly like we were cuddling.
‘You stink,’ the squirrel cat said.
‘You too,’ I replied.
That, in a nutshell, is our relationship.'

The old spellmasters liked to say that magic has a taste. Ember spells are like a spice burning the tip of your tongue. Breath magic is subtle, almost cool, the sensation of holding a mint leaf between your lips.
