Self-portrait
I recently understood how Jane felt when she drew that self-portrait. I asked myself, why didn’t she write a poem? Words are the art of language, aren't` they? A self-portrait is an out of body experience. You get to see yourself outside of the curtain of self. You see the lines that form your smile, the dark circles that form the sadness in your eyes. She tried to see herself from Rochester’s point of view, to see if he saw some kind of hint of love. If he could tell that she was yearning for him as she did for him. Mostly, a self-portrait makes you realize that in some way, you are more beautiful than anyone else
