“you said you wanted to see me??”
jannathegypsy:
“Have it on my desk by Friday, okay?” Jenny called over her shoulder to one of her students as they walked down the corridor; unfortunately, she hadn’t turned to face the direction she was moving in quick enough to avoid the imminent head clash, letting out a sound of both surprise and momentary pain. Her palm immediately darted to her forehead as she massaged it with her fingers, groaning lightly for a moment. “…I’m fine. How’s yours?” She motioned to his own head with her free hand before she started to laugh from the embarrassment of what had happened. “You know if you wanted my attention you could have just said ‘hi’, right?” She added playfully.
“H—hi?” A fond little smile on his face made him look like a boy again. Then it registered to him that she was asking for his well being as well. "Ah, I’m—I’m fine, too. I’ve had, um, much worse.” Rubbing his forehead for a bit and righting his glasses, Giles hummed and ahhed until he mustered the courage to speak up.
“I—Buffy said—I mean, um, th-there’s a... H-how do you feel about Italian?”

Being six-foot-one, Giles was used to having to avoid bumping his head into things. He’s not the tallest, though he was still taller than most people around him—and he was considerably taller than Jenny. But then he was walking down the hallway and hunched over a musty old book, he didn’t see her coming. That should teach him a lesson.
“Ow! Miss C—Jenny! I’m-I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking. A—are you alright?”
She didn’t like being out of Santa Carla, but she had to pick something up from the local magic shop, as her own supplies were running low.
Of course, with her being in the frame of mind she was in, she didn’t properly plan her trip very well and ended up arriving at her location, Sunnydale, when the sun had just set. Nights had made her uneasy, but she was more than ready to call this little trip out of town a vacation. No dealing with vampires and cleaning up after their messes. Not if she could help it.
She found a place to park Soren’s car and grabbed the one bag she had with her. This town was completely unfamiliar to her, so she had to figure her own way around. She walked into town and just wondered around until she got tired.
Eventually, she bumped into someone who seemed to be walking in her direction. “Long story short, I need to find a cheap hotel that has beds that can actually be used as beds. Know any?” She wasn’t the most casual or friendly person, so she ended her sentence with a half attempted smile.
“It’s 4 in the morning, is everything ok?”
Looking up from the laptop screen that had been burned into her mind, Willow hadn’t realized Jenny had been standing there for who knows how long. Shaking her head, she wiped at her tired eyes, not realizing how many hours had passed since she had started researching. After everything that had happened this week, from her discovery of Cordelia and Xander’s relationship, to the fact that Angelus had held her at the throat, the last thing she wanted to do was sleep. In a way, research had become her escape.
“…yeah…finey mcfine…” She mumbled, even though it was clear from her tone that everything was far from being fine.

“—can I borrow your eyeliner?” Of course, that was grade-A weird, Rupert. “Unless you have a, um, pen or-or pencil...?”

"Miss Calender! Did you say you needed to talk to me or am I misremembering conversations again?"
Rupert&Jenny; Welcome to the Magic Box
Rupert wanted to blame Jenny for this--he wanted to blame her so badly because opening this store had been her idea, but for the life of him he couldn't because he had been foolish enough to agree to it.
So he settled for taking a break from helping the more curious customers and sulking waiting patiently behind the counter for Jenny to get done instead. He watched her as she went from customer to customer, helping them with anything they needed.
This came so naturally to her, the wide smiles and the warm welcomes, but Rupert, longing for the nearly always empty library with its smell of old parchment and settling dust, just seemed to lack that social finesse that others were born with. Just talking to a person whom he barely knew for more than five minutes was enough to leave him drained and more than ready to run for home with his tail between his legs so he could settle down for the evening and get comfortable with Jenny.
When Jenny was done helping the last customer and headed his way, he couldn't help but feel that spark of excitement and tenderness that he so often felt when he was around her.
"Come to join me in my misery at last?" He said with a tender quirk of the lips, half-joking and half-serious. It was barely the beginning of the day and already he felt tired and used up, longing to just drive home with Jenny so they could curl up in bed together and he could hold her close.
