top 5 jannik matches! whether from a tennis pov or from a narratives pov 🤟

these are in no particular order

1. jannik v novak atp finals 23 round robin match

the first win over novak was something to behold and to do it in front of the home crowd - ICONIC i was locked in and i was seated and i made it everyone's business

2. jannik v jack us open 24 semi final

listen this match was FOR ME so it will always be so special to me, was it pretty, no but jannik slipping in jack's vomit and almost breaking his wrist is in fact cinema

3. jannik v daniil aus open 24 final

we had never been so over to so back and the first slam win will always be important and it's one of those everyone remembers where they were moments - with the added context now of the rg final loss it adds extra levels to this win i think

4. jannik v carlos wimbledon 22 r4

this was the match that solidified jannik as my favourite player so i feel like i need to include it

5. jannik v holger aus open 25 r4

just purely for the chaos of it all honestly i was up at 3am and i was delirious and i don't even think i had a good time but honestly really any janholger match for the dynamics
