This was difficult to do. I've never written this pairing before, and honestly, I've never read any of it either. I had to do research on the relationship. I looked up pictures to see who was generally the top and who was the bottom. It was interesting learning about this pairing. Given that it's post World War II, I decided to go about it where Japan had a lot of regret, because from what I've read, in the years after World War II Japan had a lot of regret for attacking China. So I went with that. I apologize if they seem out of character, I do not write them often and it's been a long time since I have written them. Anyway I'm done talking, so here you go. For contagiousmiscellaneous. Countries were strong. Countries were powerful. Countries fought, countries dominated, and countries bled. Countries felt regret. Japan felt regret. Strong regret. He had fought China, his China. He had dominated him, tore him apart, and had beat him down. Regret tore at him for years, tormented him, until one day, when China finally spoke to him again. It had been at a world meeting, after yet another unsuccessful attempt at setting up new relations and trades. Japan had been gathering his things, ready to just go home and seclude himself in his house. However, unlike the usual meeting events, he was stopped. By China. Who looked healthy. It had been nearly 50 years. And while they interacted, and while they spoke often, it still hurt Japan after all that he had done to China. However, today, China was smiling. "Kiku, wait. I've been meaning to talk to you." China said. Japan froze, plastering on his blank, emotionless face. China had a flower in his hair, most likely from Hungary. It suited him, accentuating his dark hair, and his eyes. Kiku stifled a blush, opting to watch America flouncing around England. He smiled. "I'll take that as a yes, then?" "Huh?" Japan looked back at China, who was smiling hopefully. "What?" "I asked if you wanted to come over and visit later. I'll wait for you outside the building. It's been a long time since you've been over, and I wanted to talk. I've missed you, you know." China said. And he looked so hopeful, so happy, that Japan found himself nodding. China beamed, and bounce off to talk with Hungary. Oh that flower was so from her. He sighed, gripping at his chest. It ached. --- Japan found himself in China's house. It was big, but cozy at the same time. It had been a long time since he he had been in this house with good intentions. "Can I get you some tea?" China asked. "Yes, please. Thank you." Japan said. China gave him a small smile, turning to go into the large kitchen of the house. Japan made his way into the sitting area, looking around at the room he had once known so well. It looks the same, but it was different. Everything looked refurbished, replaced, and new. They had to be. Japan knew, because he had set fire to this house. He had burned this room nearly to the ground. It tore at him, he ached, wishing to get all of his feelings out. He wanted to scream to the heavens how sorry he was, he wants into beg for forgiveness, he needed to. And he would. China walked back into the room with a tray holding a teakettle and fine tea cups. Japan turn to him, hands trembling, and the urge was so strong, so powerful, that he found himself falling to his knees, bowing to the man he once conquered. "I apologize! Yao, I...I apologize! I hurt you! Yao, I...I made you suffer! It's unforgivable!" Japan was crying, bowing, nose touching the floor. Yao had by then set down the tray, falling to his knees in front of the other man. "Kiku...please, do not cry. It's alright..." He tried to explain, but Japan just shook his head, sobbing. "I am sorry, Yao, I am so sorry. I regret it! I-" "Kiku!" China grabbed his face, forcing him to look at him. Japan looked at him through blurry eyes, and sucked in a sharp breath before rushing forward to pull China into his arms. He hid his face in the other's shoulder. "I regret it. I regret it all. How can you stand to look at me?" Japan whispered. China pushed him back, holding his face in his hands. "Because I have already forgiven you." China whispered, pulling the weeping man in for a kiss that promised a new beginning, a fresh start, and a promise. A promise to never hurt each other again.
