I can’t believe how good the snow is here in the Japanese alps! Not to mention how much snow there is, it’s crazy!! It may look like snow, but this thing skis like an ice cube. Skiing #Mtfuji in winter is a great challenge... Especially when you're used to #Hokkaido powder 😆❄🗻⛷ . . For difficulty, it was a toss up between vertical gain and snow surface ski-ability. Since the roads were closed low on the mountain due to snow, we had a lot of vert to cover on foot. We started at under 4,000' and ended up on top 8,500' and 13km later. That was tough. But snow surface put up a good fight in the toughness department, with 5,000' of descent on boiler plate. . I used the sheen of the snow to pick our descent line -> Flat snow= 😊 shiny snow= 😝.
