This wasn't exactly how Ben saw his evening going, not really. He'd hope for a chance to get to relax after the party, a moment to actually chat with his girlfriend. He had a girlfriend, now. Somehow, that was the least exciting circumstance of his evening, and also the best. Things had decidedly gone down hill from there. His main hope was simply that Bri was alright somewhere, that she'd made it out okay, but it was hard to be sure. He was torn between hoping he'd run into her and just wanting her to be at home, safe. That didn't stop him from running into someone else, though, someone else who'd escaped the party before all the trouble went down. "Jasmine?" he asked, feeling a little wary. "Are you alright?"

Was the hedge maze a stupid idea for someone with occasionally uncontrollable werewolf abilities and a fear of enclosed spaces? Probably. Did the knowledge that she shouldn’t do something ever stop Kitty from doing that very thing? Absolutely not. Kitty was nothing if not a glutton for punishment. She’d had a “do it for the Vine” before it was cool, she liked to think, even if she’d been too young to actually have Vine. It was in spirit, you know? And it was just a hedge maze! Those were fun. Bitches loved hedge mazes.

Kitty did not like hedge mazes, especially this one, too tall to see over, too twisty for her to just waltz in and waltz out. There weren’t enough people running around for her to feasibly follow someone out, and she was too stubborn to ask for help, regardless. Probably not the best idea, in hindsight, as she was completely turned around. Everywhere she looked seemed like it was a dead end, and Kitty felt something harsh building up in her chest. This wasn’t good. This wasn’t good at all. Her eyes were flashing blue, she just knew it, her own fucked up version of a hazard light blinking back at people. She’d only seen it a few times in the mirror. The color was unsettling. There was a snap behind her, the sound of approaching footsteps, and Kitty jumped, even more on edge than before. “Hello?”

Right, because nothing says adorable like an attempted crime of passion by a character from a children’s book.
