‘ i ran into my ex yesterday. ’ / @ptrodactyl
@sabortooths: ❝ i’m here for you. ❞
are we power rangers or are we friends is a distant echo on the edge of their thoughts. they think too often about that night, how they were unable to offer up an answer then; mind consumed with impending doom, skin dotted with bruises, the weight of leadership heavy on their soul. the latters are still present, though for the time being, the former’s been averted; there’s room to breathe, to exist. space for these moments, so vital however small; they cling to these, commit to memory the inflection of her voice, the phantom smile that possesses her mouth.
jason rubs at tender bruises dotting their forearms like constellations, purple and blue; then they smile themself before their expression transfixes into a mask of feigned severity.
‘ pretty sincere of you, trini. you’re not sick or anything, right? no fever? if i need to take you to a hospital, let me know---- ’
‘ i’ve had enough trouble, thanks. ’ / @jason
@sabortooths / prompt / accepting.
there’s still a healthy portion of teenage rebellion in them; their training hasn’t stripped them of that. jason’s eyes are wild with it, near bursting, unfazed by her lack of enthusiasm— it’s nothing less than they anticipated. they have faith they’ll be able to convince her; after all, it’s stronger now than it was when this all began, forged by blood and loss—- by love. (it’s not all bad; jason needs to remember that.)
‘ come on, trini. ’ their hands steeple against their chin, lower lip jutting into a pout; there’s some blood crusted in the corner from the afternoon’s session, but it goes unnoticed. ‘ it’s just a skating rink. kids break into it all the time, you know, and zack’s handling the lock, not billy, so no explosions— i promise. just come with us. i’m pretty good— my mom taught me when i was little. you really wanna miss out on seeing my moves? ’
