Haints & Saints Art Show and Print Release Party 8 pm • April 3, 2015 Sky City Augusta, Georgia
Every time Michael Jordan touched the ball he had three options; pass, shoot or dribble. The freedom to do anything he wanted. Equally dangerous with whatever choice he made. Dunk it, dish it, drain it. There is no doubt that he is the greatest basketball player and possibly one of the greatest athletes of all time.
Jordan won a ton of individual titles, some a result of the decisions he made when that ball entered his hands. Others from wanting the ball bad enough to take it.
But his biggest success wasn't about his freedom or his unique talent. It was about Phil Jackson. Under Jackson's direction and guidance, Jordan won six NBA championships. Without it, he won nothing. Phil Jackson on the other hand, went on to win the Championship 5 more times without Jordan. Add the 2 Championships that Phil won as a player and he has enough rings to cover both hands and 3 of his toes. Thats an expensive high five.
But realness is real. Jordan needed Jackson to be successful.
Never underestimate the important role that leadership plays. Especially as a team works towards a common goal. No matter how talented your individuals are, without clear understanding and focused goals, you are nothing more than a collection of individuals that may never win another championship.
Looks like I am going to be back on the Creative South stage for a second year in a row. This time as a speaker.
I will be talking about my 18 years in the creative industry, sharing stories along the way and revealing my personal habits that keep me on the path to continued growth and success.
I will also make one slide with the companies that I have worked with over the years so you can see that I am hashtag legit.
Don't miss it.

I really love dribbble. It lets me know on any given day who the best designers in the world are on that day. It’s also good for when you go to a conference and some other designer comes up and says, “hey I follow you on Dribbble…”
But as with anything, if you mismanage your expectations or rely on something too heavily, you will be sad. So here is to you sad Dribbblers out there.
See you at the next conference.
That time Russ Pate and I shattered the sales record!
I love chatting with Mark.
