“Care to see a card trick, my friend?”
Grimm approaches and spreads out the deck, holding it out to her.
“Pick any one! It’ll be worth your time, I promise.”

... this person was big. Bigger than her, and maybe even bigger than Kris’s dad. But she looked really, really cool. Other than her size, one of the first things Susie had noticed was the gigantic axe that the other was wielding-- maybe not her favourite colour, but that didn’t stop it from being completely badass. Compared to the dinky wooden one she was given.. yeah, she would’ve rather had that one for sure.
“Where’d you get that..?!” despite herself, a bit of her excitement seeped out of her words, which Susie quickly tried to cover up with a cough. She threw her arms up behind her head, attempting to act completely unbothered. “.. I mean, how’d you get it? Why don’t you have a crappy weapon like I do?”

Oh. It’s not the same, but it’s similar - so similar he thinks for a moment he’s found another spirit before he digs deeper. He’s never, never met someone like this before, someone else who can hear and feel and maybe understand the way he does.
“You’re like me,” Cole tells him, running to catch up, tugging once quick-quick on the end of his sleeve and then bringing his hands back curled up to his chest. “And you can change it, too - you can make them happy, or calm. I wish I could. I try to do it with words, but usually I do it wrong. Sometimes I make it worse.”
The cigarette was burning slowly. He held it between his fingers like a golf pencil, aware of its open ends. The sun had set a few hours ago, and the heat was fading in the absence of the day. He couldn’t feel it (low body temperature, you know) but he could see it on the people and the way they were dressed, so to blend in a little better, Malachi slid his arms out of his jacket and threw it over his shoulder. He wanted desperately to find a bar—something to drink that wasn’t living—but you couldn’t smoke in bars these days hardly anywhere. So when the bright lights of the trying-hard-not-to-be-tacky pub across the street directed his eyes over there, he stepped on the stub with a tsk. What a waste. Nothing spectacular inside, so he made his way towards the bar and ordered himself a beer. One turned to two, like it usually did. He was about to call it a night and find something else to entertain himself with when his eyes caught side of him.
It. Can’t. Be.
Last time he saw him he was screaming as his body burned into nothing. Or maybe he just thought he had burned into nothing. Malachi blinked a few times as he watched the image of Jasper head towards the stalls in the back and so he downed the rest of his beer and followed him there. Felt so natural to stalk him that he didn’t even question it and part of him was expecting him to be an illusion. Some kind of mirage. A ghost coming back to haunt him. But no, as he stepped inside he saw him there, staring at his reflection on the mirror. Malachi closed the door with his foot, and it was the sound of the lock that made Jasper turn to see him. ❝Hello, Jasper.❞

Gray’s phone was locked in his hands, thumbs tapping away writing some sort of unknown paragraph. People on the streets tended to stick away from Gray after the recent... scene he caused. Not that it appeared to affect him, he was just... silently waiting for some sort of police force to hunt him down and throw him behind bars.
Luckily, that time was not yet.
Though he had to admit he was pretty damn startled when someone walked straight into him. Gray carefully made sure his phone was safe before glaring down, “Dude, you should watch where you’re...” Oh, oh shit. “You’re...I’m... so sorry.”

Regal hadn’t meant to end up surrounded. He’d been looking for something, one painting in particular, but... all of these painting monsters look to be of the same individual, and it’s no one he’s ever met before. There’s only one other person nearby-- maybe she knows the subject of the paintings.
“The same individual over and over...” He kicks another monster away from them, fighting to stand next to the stranger. “Just how many paintings were done of this person?”
The feeling of being back in the states was surreal, incredible, and every other overwhelmed word Moon Taewoo could think of. His eyes had been as wide as saucers from the moment they’d landed, unable to help himself staring out the car window as they drove to their hotel. Everything feeling about Los Angeles so familiar and foreign at the same time.
Usually, he wasn’t much of a deep sleeper, functioning just fine on five or so hours at a time, which was handy in this case because he was too wound up to allow himself to relax. After finally falling asleep far too late, he found himself rising early, pleased as he scrolled through the information on the hotel’s website to find that they would already be serving breakfast down stairs in the hall. The leader knew there would be a busy day ahead, so it would be beneficial to eat well.
Taewoo had only been there for a few minutes when someone else joined him in the reserved space, knowing he must be an idol because, well, he was Korean. That and this particular area was held for them only. “Good morning!” He greeted the stranger, tone far too cheery for almost anyone at this time as he loaded his plate up with eggs. “I’m Taewoo, Kostion’s leader. Did you sleep well?” @vldjasper

“Come on, it’ll be fun!!”
Kay's not giving up until she gets in that maze. She’s tried everything she can think of to sneak in, but they’re insisting that it has to be done in pairs. When she saw a familiar face near the entrance, she knew she had to convince Jasper to try it with her. She's tugging on her arm, trying her best to move her toward the entrance
“They said we get a prize if we win, I’ll split it with you!!”
