the sad sale went great, thank you for all the support everyone <3 I bought shelves and makeup and paper star papers and stickers and a new blanket, plus it's helping cover my allowance until my wife starts getting paid. I am already thinking I might do another sale in november just for fun lol
my wife has started orientation at her program and she's having a great time, our partner and I are gonna go down to visit her in a couple weeks :) I also finished rearranging all my furniture now that her furniture isn't here and it only made me terribly ill once!

aw that's so cool! the ones that are like actually packaged for making paper stars are usually a bit thinner than printer paper, like other origami paper, but that also means they tear a lot more easily in the first step if you're not careful, so it's always a tradeoff. what a fun coincidence :>

oof yeah my mom gets a bad rash from sun exposure too! I'm fortunate to not have that specific symptom, but dang it seems so inconvenient, especially if you're also sensitive to heat so being covered up puts you at additional risk. personally I rate winter a little higher than fall but otherwise yeah total agreement lol

Trivia Night
“Who was F. Scott Fitzgerald’s wife?” Sam asks, eyes fixed on Steve and Bucky as they begin to scribble their answers on their torn sheets of paper.
“C’mon, Sam,” Natasha complains from where she’s sitting cross-legged on the couch. “At least give them something before their time. Steve was practically walking and talking then!”
Steve glares at her. “I was two, Nat. Buck was three.” A beat. “When do you think we were born anyways?”
She rolls her eyes but doesn’t reply.
“Next, Wilson,” Bucky snaps. “Ask us the next question. I gotta beat Rogers.”
“Oh, so it’s just Rogers now?” Steve challenges. “What happened to ‘til death do us apart?’“
“Marriages means nothing when it comes to trivia night,” Bucky shoots back. He quickly worms the glittering ring from the finger of his metal arm and sets it on the coffee table before him. “C’mon, Wilson.”
“I’ll take as much time as I want, Barnes,” Sam retorts, but still, he scans the printed sheet of questions he holds. “Who was Gossip Girl on the CW show Gossip Girl?”
Natasha whistles. “I know you’ve watched that, Steve. It was on the list I gave you.”
“I made it one season in before I gave up.” Steve hastily jots down an answer on his sheet. Bucky is glancing up at the ceiling thoughtfully, pen tapping his lips. “It was too much... drama for me.” He wrinkles his nose.
“Yet you’re friends with Tony Stark,” notes Sam. He watches Bucky scratch something down with his pen before moving on. “When did Alaska become a state?”
Twenty minutes later, Sam has gone through all the questions on his list, and Natasha is totaling the scores, eyes moving swiftly between Steve’s sheet of answers and Bucky’s.
Bucky and Steve are busy glaring at each other, although Bucky has slid his ring back on.
Finally, Natasha says, “And the winner is...” All three men’s heads snap up, their expectant gazes landing on her. She laughs huskily, ropey braid of bright hair swaying. “It was a tie. Clearly, Sam’s bad at picking challenging trivia questions. Both of you got everything correct.”
Sam scowls at her.
“I demand a rematch,” Bucky says. “And this time, Natasha picks the questions.”

Brock had sat still as Jack went over his plan. He kept his face turned away from him, only letting him see his good ear and an untouched part of skin on his neck. It was a progress; Jack had gotten tired of his black helmet with skull-like markings.
Now, Jack hesitated at that sharp admission before carefully adding, “I can help with that, too.”
Brock slowly shook his head, as if even such a simple movement brought him pain. “I’m already on painkillers, Rollins. There’s nothing you can do.”
Jack ignored the stabbing feeling Brock referring to him by his last name like he meant nothing to him brought.
Brock snorted at the mention. “I almost forgot how close to them you are.” He turned enough to send Jack a glare. “Enough of that bullshit. You think I’m stupid enough to not know what this is? You just wanna capture me.”
He shifted in his seat, preparing himself to stand up. Jack strained his body at that, ready to follow him.
“We would’ve already done that if that was the case. We knew where you were. I’m here, aren’t I?”
“You knew I wouldn’t go down without a fight. This is the easy way.” Brock heaved himself up, and, limping slightly, approached the table where his helmet rested.
“Trust me--nothing about this is easy.” Jack followed him, but stopped just a few feet behind him. “Seeing you like this isn’t easy. Having you not believe me isn’t easy.”
“Can you blame me?” Brock picked up the helmet, hid his head beneath, and with it, the last bits of trust he had in Jack. “You’re nothing but a fraud, and I’ve my mind made up.”
He crossed the room to the door, opened it, and let in his men. “Take him outta here.”
Jack’s muscles tightened on instinct, but he wouldn’t fight them. He had to show Brock he could play by his rules.
“Fine, I don’t care if you trust me,” he said as a big redhead grabbed his wrist. “But even if a small part of you wants things to get better, consider me.” More hands grabbed him and he was forcefully pulled towards the door. He had no choice but to move. “I wanna help!” he was almost out the door now. He held Brock’s gaze, but there was nothing warm in it. “I don’t care what SHIELD wants, I just wanna be with you! Brock!” he shouted as the door shut close. “BROCK!”

Someone was looking for stories were Hydra wins, so I’d like to toot my own horn and put forth Love in the Time of Hydra :
Steve Rogers was blown out of a train car in the same attack that took Bucky’s arm. With Steve dead, Bucky took over trying to take down Hydra, eventually plunging to his apparent death to save the USA from a Hydra assault. But when he’s unfrozen 75 years later, he discovers that neither Steve nor Hydra had ever died, his best friend has become the face of a terrible regime, and the rebel Avengers need his help to put the world right again.
I don’t believe I’ve ever used It’d. And “had had” is actually correct. There’s no contraction for it, and it looks very weird and might even set off the grammar checker for duplicate words, but it is correct.
