Finally, I did the Java Green Peacock! :excited: They are so beautiful and different from the Indian Blue's. I belive they are typicaly found in Asia, these birds are much more upright and 'taller' than their Indian Blue cousins. Also as you can see they have a more narrow pointed head with this wonderful set of crown feathers that shoots STRAIGHT back from their skull rather than fanning out like the I-Blue Peacocks. And they are of course well-Green. ;) I had to put a lot more detail into this guy than the Indian Blue Peacock Portrait I did because Java Green Peacocks...their feathers are...are like 'plates' kinda like a dragon's scales so each feather is very distinct and I couldn't really get away with skipping over any of them lol so I had to go over this guy and ALL of his feathers five times *once with black, then dark green, a lime green, yellow, white and then finally a tan around the edges, sometiems going over it AGAIN with black after all of that just to make sure all the feathers had their distinct place* So this guy was a lot of work but it payed off I am very proud of this piece. I think he looks very very handsome. Despite how beautiful the Java Green Peacocks are, I doubt I would ever want one *as I hope to one day carry on the family peafowl farm* anyway, after some reasarch on the different breeds I have found that Java Green's tend to be a bit more agressive. So, I don't think they are for me, I don't think they are mean lol but I would just rather stick with an animal of a lower profile than one that comes with a caution flag. But I love the breed still and admire their beauty and anatomy that is so unique compared to all other Peafowl breeds. :)
