What kind of recording setup do you use? (I know nothing about audio processing)

You're so welcome and omg yay I'm so happy!!! I've been terrified to share because I'm certain there will be people who hate the sound of my voice or how I read different characters, etc (which is totally valid, I just hope people won't, like, tell me when they hate it... ^_^;), so it absolutely makes my day that my voice and inflections are working for you, yay!!!

I'm just using a free voice recording app on my phone, it's called "Voice Recorder" and I downloaded it from Google Play. XD The built-in microphone on my phone seems to do the trick for this, thank goodness! And I'm doing this as I read the book for the first time, but then at night my boyfriend and I listen to the recordings together so I can reassure myself that a clip sounds okay, and so that he can read the book alongside me. He's really enjoying it too!!

Do you have plans to do the next book as well?

I don't, I'm so sorry 😞 I'm disabled and this project took so much out of me and I am still physically recovering. @attacus-atlas-the-moth had said they were planning on recording their own TTOU audiobook this summer, so hopefully this is still something they want to do? 🤞

i was also planning to record a audiobook for the javelin program!(in the summer because i am far too busy right now!)

You totally should, I'm sure my voice/cadence/line readings won't be a lot of people's cup of tea, so it'd be great for people to have different options for their narrator!!! I'd be sure to share yours on my Tumblr and archive.org page if/when you upload your version, just let me know the link(s)!

i just finished reading about this wonderful person and their totally normal functional spaceship ( https://derinstories.com/2022/06/04/001-the-problem-with-the-javelin-program/ ) and oh my cod im going to sob

i started reading this probably about a week ago? and it has haunted me (good thing) the entire time

every chance i got i would read it, and time would melt with it

reading one chapter? nope. you're binging 7 and an hour will have passed.

it was a glorious experience, and i'll probably end up re-reading it at some point
