jackie was ENTIRELY based off of the mimic, just like the original. he also still kills his dad like in the original, but this time hes able to get out of jail!!! (i like to think it was shroud bailing him out, assuming that jackie would join him)

AND MAXWELL!!!! him wanting to be a hero but not being able to is a reference to his original self, wanting to be a photographer but being stuck as a journalist. his abilities also nod to him “not being enough” (not enough to survive the maze LMAOO)

but yeah!!! and i like to think maxwell interviews jackie a LOT. he interviews him once while hes in jail, then again when he finds out he made bail, and AGAIN when he finds out hes in the redemption program of sdn. he just thinks hes neat!

Maxwell hadn't exactly been himself lately. After the car accident, before his sugery, he'd definitely not been himself. He'd said some crude words, and almost lost the love of his life. After explaining himself, and begging the boy to come home, it was all Maxwell could do to keep his hands off. The doctor told him he couldn't do anything "physical" for about a week, and Jamal knew, so, with Jamal being the person he is and wanting Maxwell to be completely healed, he refused sex. Maxwell had never wanted someone more than when he couldn't have them. Jamal was being difficult, and with the wreck being exactly a week away, Maxwell was going to seduce him. Standing in the kitchen, stark naked, making chocolate chip cookies, he heard the door unlock and click. His parents didn't have keys to his room -- plus the fact that it was 11 pm at night, and both of his rents were asleep. He knew who it was. "Babe?" Maxwell sounded almost innocent. He knew Jamal couldn't see what he was doing or what he wasn't wearing. "I have a surprise for you."
