Yesterday I read the book "Isle of the Lost" for the first time, and I had some questions.

The friendship of the VK in the first film and the book doesn't seem the same. The moment with the journey to Maleficent's castle is, of course, interesting, but I'm not ready to believe that they became friends so quickly. When I watched the first film, it seemed to me that they had been good friends for at least a few years.

They so easily forgot about their pets left on the Isle.

So do the villains live in different houses or in the same one?

What kind of dreams did Ben and Mal have? Some kind of "True Lovers" connection? Do all "True Lovers" have dreams like this? OH NO I THOUGHT ABOUT JANE AND CARLOS' TOO CUTE SCENE I FEEL SAD.

Now, a little bit off the book. Are "True Lovers" like soulmates in this universe?

Why didn't any of the characters listen to Ben? Are they so unimpressed with him as part of the royal family?

I feel so bad for VK's childhood... They should go to a psychologist there, or something. Why aren't there psychologists in this universe?..

I really want more brotherly/sisterly moments between Carlos & Evie and Jay & Mal. But what were those jokes about the Jay and Evie pairing?

For some reason, it seems to me that the characters here aren't sixteen, but two years younger.

Do you have any platonic Jay and Mal headcanons?

Mal & Jay Headcanons (Best Friends) ____

-They’ve known each other since they were toddlers because Maleficent had decided to become allies with Jafar

- BBB Goals (bitter baby besties)

- Mal and Jay have this thing where they can just look at each other and understand what the other one is thinking

- A ton of people had confused them for dating on the Isle and rare few times in Auradon, but they don’t think of each other like that

- They just get each other

- Whenever Mal sees Jay flirting with a group of girls, she loves to walk up to him and pretend like she’s dating him which always makes the group scatter away

- Jay has never stolen anything from Mal and she hasn’t taken anything from Jay without permission either (this is a pretty big deal for them)

- The duo had been Lady Tremaine’s ‘favorite students’ for the sole reason that they had appeared to be the most likely to succeed in being truly evil villains

- Mal never misses any Tourney games

- Jay always makes sure to come to every royal event that he can

- They’ve had each other’s backs from the beginning and they don’t plan on stopping that any tum soon

yk. I'm thinking about the VK's learning about piercings that aren't just ears. Ear piercings were very typical back at the isle, but other than those others weren't attempted because they were hard to heal and got infected easier. also where can you find other piercings than just studs?

So when jay finds out about other piercings. Like eyebrow piercings?

Man is like,"I want one."

And of course, Mal finds out how to do it even though they definitely shouldn't be and definitely won't be allowed to AND he definitely can just go to some professional, but she will do it herself anyway because no one else is allowed to stab Jay.

She has the cleanest set up she's ever had in the dorm room because they have sanitizer and stuff now instead of the dirty room back at the isle while she did his tattoos. She's pretty proud of how cleaned she kept her needle and his skin while doing those.

He sits with his legs dangling off the bed as she tears the needle out, laying it down on the blue paper towel. Jay has his hair pulled up in a low bun, beanie hanging on the headboard.

He smiles at her when she picks it the long needle, holding it up infront of him with a wicked smile on her face.

It should scare him how happy she looks since she's about to stab a hole through his face. Instead he has a tingle in his fingers, gaze following her hands as she uses some weird clamp to pinch his eyebrow.

"Kay, I'm gonna stab you now." She warns, snorting when Jay just blinks back at her. She steadys her hand against his temple, pinky finger balancing on his cheekbones as she lines the sharp end against his skin. The tip digs into his skin and he clenches his jaw, staring at her vest.

He can hear her breaths with how close she is, a deep breath before there's a sharp pain going through his skin, and then it sore and feeling stretched out. She pulls back, unhooking the clamp and placing it down on the towel.

He keeps the eye below the needle close, glancing at her as she picks the bar up.

"Maybe I should just keep this big ass needle in." He says, laughing when he opens it to see the needle hanging down from out the corner of this eye.

Mal just huffs, looking annoyed at the small jewelery before she tilts his face upwards, clicking the jewelery and pulling it through the newly stabbed hole.

The pain isn't as bad as a stab wound really, the one he got on the side of this waist hurt 100 times more than this.

"done!" She says finally, clapping her gloved hands together. "here." She hands him some spray bottle.

"people say you need to clean it with this 2 times a day. don't touch it with your hands. just leave it alone."

"thanks doc."

"shut up. Here." She rolls her eyes, throwing a small compact mirror at him.

"oh shit. I look fuckin hot."

"yea you do."

I may or may not have written a jal story about jay being jealous (but he doesn't know that lmao) and Mal is getting married and,,,, is it too late?
