Season 4 of Grandstanding is here!
It's an exciting day as my co-host Jay Busbee and I have embarked on another season of the Grandstanding podcast on Yahoo Sports. We just posted our season premiere episode today after a brief summer hiatus and a great Olympic guest hosting run from Greg Wyshynski down in Rio. We'll be following it this week with a deep fantasy dive with a Yahoo fantasy guru on Wednesday and a long NFL preview with Yahoo's chief NFL blogger Frank Schwab on Friday.
After that, it's full speed ahead with podcasts every Monday, Wednesday & Friday.
Now for the unseemly part of the self-promotion on the Internet biz. If you like what we do, we've come hat in hand to beg for good reviews on iTunes or the podcast app of your choice. We'd also like to ask that you subscribe to our podcast on the app of your choice, even if you have no intention of listening to our unique blend of sports talk three times per week this fall. (If you haven't checked us out yet, however, now is an excellent time to come aboard. We have plenty of fun things planned for the NFL season ahead.)
Simply put, we're looking for increased momentum this season and the best way to do that is to help game our iTunes rankings a bit. Increased reviews and subscriptions means increased visibility in the sports podcast rankings, which hopefully grows our listener base.
What also helps our listener base: Great word of mouth, so we appreciate any recommendations as well as likes on our Grandstanding Facebook page.
Where you can find us:
•iTunes •Sound Cloud • Stitcher • Grandstanding Facebook Page
What's in it for you: If you leave us a review on iTunes or Stitcher, you can mention a player or team (any sport, past or present) at the end of it and we'll do a short segment on them in an upcoming episode. (If you've ever wanted to hear us discuss, say, Chuck Cecil's SI cover or the 1998 NL wild card champion Chicago Cubs, here's your chance.)
*yes, we completely ripped this idea off from Will Leitch. Thank you so much in advance for your support. While we think we've done a pretty good job with the podcast the past few years, we haven't been the best in promoting our own work to get it before a wider audience. This is our first step and we appreciate you being a part of it.
