Hi! Have you had time to work on Chapter 3 of "Hidden Agendas" recently? If not, that's okay.

A little bit. I have an outline and some scenes started. However I have had two big challenges 1.) My tablet is becoming obsolete and it has been difficult using word processors, and I have been trying to find a permanent solution to writing and editing. (Difficult when the apps or web browsers won’t work when your device can’t or won’t update) 2.) I work as a preschool assistant, and my classroom lead quit in March so all lead teacher duties have been given to me so I have had to spend a lot of my free time working on curriculum. (I’m trying to get the last 8 weeks of school planned this weekend so I can get my future weekends back.) I really do miss writing, and I have been doing what I can to catch up, or organize my notes. I am hoping to have another chapter ready by the summer.

Hi! I wrote a little more last week, but my pre-K class had their graduation yesterday, so gonna try to do more writing during my lunch breaks again! Thank you for your patience!

G and Z for the fanfic ask game?

Hey Aden! thank you for the ask! G: Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write the scenes out of order? So typically start to write a story chronologically, or at least have, what I call, the ABC map set up (I will have plot points established and then work on the events in-between as I write.)

However, let’s say I’m working on plot point D but I suddenly have a great idea on how to write the dialogue or a scene in plot point H or L, I will have a separate document to write it down and then see if I can still implement the most important parts when I actually get to that part of the narrative.

Z: Major character death–do you ever write/read it? Is there a character whose death you can’t tolerate? I haven’t actually read that many fics with any character deaths, now that I think of it. As much as I like the drama of angst and hurt/comfort, I do tend to keep a light at the end of the tunnel for writing. As for handling character deaths, I think it’s less about the character and more the connection they had with the other players in the story; and therefore the impact their death has on the others. I have a memory of playing a jrpg in my youth and when they player character’s mother was killed after only knowing her briefly, because of the connection that was shown, I couldn’t play that game again for six months. I know one character death that impacted me the most, (SPOILERS FOR OKAMIDEN) Was near the end of the game where I was stuck and while looking up how to fix a puzzle, I accidentally read that Kurow was going to die at the end. I tried to ignore that but still had a hard time getting through the last couple cutscenes, because he ended up being my favorite character. He was an underdog, a cynic, a charmer, and my favorite game companion. I ended up writing lyrics to his leitmotif and I never did that for another character before.
