Stress had been rising in Emiri since the Gala, Harrison’s apology had taken her by surprise and since leaving his hospital room she had tried to avoid him. Not wishing for feelings of the past to creep back in fully. So when Jay had texted suggesting a coffee date, she eagerly accepted, grateful to have a distraction and to be talking to a someone who wasn’t afraid to show that he cared about her. Thankfully she had managed to grab their favourite table and was sat with her hands clasped round her drink. Listening to the loud murmur of the shop, everyone seemingly busy on their break from work. Upon seeing Jay, an infectious smile rose up on her lips and she waved him over towards her. “I took the liberty of ordering for you, I arrived here early and a queue was building behind me so I decided to save you from standing in it.”
