Building Your Leadership for an Accelerated Business Landscape
The last year has seen vast changes in business practices. Dallas leaders in Jay Holstine’s CEO peer group are continually expanding their leadership skills for tomorrow’s challenges.
Every four weeks, Jay Holstine’s CEO peer group gathers facts and strategies from experts, and tackles the hard questions of how to build their their skills and grow their organizations for the future. They share research as well as the wisdom of experience. The one common thing they want to avoid is Inaction.
Holstine shared: “After analyzing the pros and cons of new communications technologies, the group discussed restructuring strategies for more flexible work environments, as well as innovations in team development, while sharing their experiences in introducing some of these changes.”

But they are far Less than the Long-range Risks of Comfortable Inaction."

“With last year’s reformatting of the business landscape, major changes in workforce locations and ways of working, along with an evolution in sales practices, we find that the most effective leaders are actively seeking new ideas, as they re-envision and refocus their organizations,” Holstine added.
“Amidst these changes, building a Positive Team Mentality helps to focus the team’s energy on the mission ahead. Knowing that each obstacle can be a lesson, and leading with positive optimism, creates a chain reaction of open attitudes and better results,” Holstine noted.
“We found that the most effective leaders were seeking new ideas, making themselves more accessible, emphasizing their commitment and accountability, while providing autonomy to the talent they have hired,” Holstine said.
“Testing out new ideas, re-calibrating measurements of job performance, encouraging feedback from various levels, and enabling updated communication within departments and management levels, also helps teams recruit valuable young talent, and stay successful in tomorrow’s landscape. We found that leaders are exploring new customer categories, new alliances, and adding partnerships, along with innovative, more effective ways of working,” Holstine summarized.
“Strategies to update working tools and re-imagine all efforts are key to energizing teams to succeed. The most effective leaders motivate, encourage and inspire their workforce. Their teams know them as confident, accountable, and empathetic. And when success follows, instead of taking credit, the best leaders give credit to the team,” Holstine added.
