(Quick background context: one of my characters, Seren, has a girlfriend who’s an NPC that my DM had me make a sheet for when we first started playing, off the off chance she ever got involved in a fight somehow. She’s always just kinda been around because, you know, we ended up down a hole in the center of town, but that’s a different story. Anyways. Full story below the cut because it’s long and stupid lol)
TL;DR: I unexpectedly had to flirt in-character with a new friend who was playing my character’s previously NPC girlfriend and I died. Also I’m bad at even pretending to flirt and I threw my glasses
I was playing in a rather long D&D session the other day with my friends, and the day before that the DM was like ‘hey can you send me Luminae’s character sheet. Also her spells’ and I was like yeah sure, whatever I guess she’s gonna come and save our asses down in this hole we’re stuck in or something.
Fast forward about two or three hours into the session, as we’re panicking and getting ready to head out to save our returning party member who apparently got kidnapped on the way out of town and is going to be offered as a sacrifice. The DM (who is also my friend and knows basically every aspect of Seren and Luminae’s relationship that I’ve already decided on, knows how weak both Seren and I are to situations involving flirting, but it’s fine) fucking looks at me. And very deliberately starts describing how someone is coming down the hallway, running -- aND WHO SPEAKS UP BUT MY NEW FRIEND, WHO IS THE ROOMMATE OF MY DM AND ANOTHER FRIEND (who is also playing)
KEEPING IN MIND THAT I SPECIFICALLY ASKED HER EARLIER IF SHE WAS PLAYING WITH US TONIGHT, BECAUSE SHE WAS SITTING AT THE TABLE WITH DICE OUT, AND I TRUSTED HER WHEN SHE TOLD ME SHE WASN’T, FUCKING --- I TRUSTED
I WAS SO UNPREPARED I FUCKING THREW MY GLASSES ONTO THE TABLE AND NEARLY DIED, I COULDN’T SPEAK FOR LIKE A MINUTE AND SHE WAS NICELY BERATING ME (in-character) THAT ENTIRE TIME FOR NOT TELLING HER I WAS GOING OUT TO DO DANGEROUS SHIT, AND THAT SHE WAS GOING TO JOIN US SO SHE COULD MAKE SURE I WAS OKAY (I said no that’s my job but let’s be real, I know her character as well as I know Seren and I knew she wouldn’t take that for an answer)
So for the next two-ish hours (maybe it was less, actually) I was very badly flirting with and being extremely protective of her, aND THEN SHE ALMOST DIED BUT THAT’S FINE, THAT’S ANOTHER STORY, and when we got back to town we all went to a bath, as you do after kicking ass and also getting your asses kicked, which you can imagine was a fucking adventure of eyebrows being raised at me by my friends. Not to mention the person playing Seren’s girlfriend super leaning into it and me dying in and out of character I like to think I have chill, but I really do not
Anyways it was a great time and I can’t flirt (but then again I guess Seren can’t either, mostly, so it works out) and there were a lot of eyebrow-raising comments being made. Also I got to be like almost over-the-top sappy about checking if Luminae was alright every time something happened, so that was good.
Kelariis saw her younger brother today for the first time in nearly four years, I was not ready in- or out-of-character, aLL I WANTED TO DO WAS GO TO THE FISH MARKET FOR INFORMATION AND THERE HE WAS, AND HE CALLED OUT TO HER AND SHE RAN TO HIM IMMEDIATELY AND SCOOPED HIM UP IN A BIG HUG AND IT WAS REAL EMOTIONAL
AND THEN SHE WENT BACK TO HER HOME VILLAGE AND HI OH MY GOD PARENTS, AND THEN HER MOM HUGGED HER AND OUR SESSION ENDED. And Kelariis is really nervous because she’s not been home or had contact with her parents (except this one letter she sent that she didn’t get a response to) since she left for the army, and she also is kinda super disgraced right now because she essentially told the army to fuck off, and uhhhh she’s very nervous about what her family thinks now
Still thinking about my poor daughter paladin and the horrible nightmare she had during our session today that she woke up screaming from ;-;
Also remembering she is 15 physical years old, like what the fuck she’s nearly died like four times and has had horrible (magically-induced by Evil Shit) nightmares more than once, my child please

13) Playing video games, would they be a completionist, a speedrunner, how would they play?
She’d take a very focused sort of approach, powering through themain storyline and only picking up and completing side quests if they seem likethey’d be useful. But I think she’d go back and try to 100% the game aftercompleting the main quest (assuming it’s a game that allows that; otherwise she’dlikely just leave it)
17) How do they dress?
- Hhhh the hardest question, goddammit. Uhh… when she’s doing jobsin particular, she wears pretty much the bare minimum – no armor, with enoughof a top to be decent and still mobile, with shorter pants (closer to the kneein terms of length). Otherwise just functional clothing – a decent tunic/shirttucked into longer pants – unless her girlfriend insists she wear somethingnicer lol
20) If they could be a dragon, would they be a dragon?
((Can we talk about both asks for my Dragonborncharacters included this question? Ahahaha but)) Fennonrae is very happy withbeing a Dragonborn, so probably not something she’d jump at immediately? Shewouldn’t be upset if it happened for some reason out of her control though
