Aleksander kept his gaze cast out at the falling snow for a few moments longer before turning to Jayn. “I’m afraid not much of a dancer without a partner.” Honestly, he had thought about going to the fête with Zoya, but had decided against it. He hadn’t been much in the mood to be around so many people watching his every move either in jealousy or admiration. He did love attention, but there were times he wanted to be alone or with a select few. “If you want to go back inside and enjoy the fun then go ahead. No one is going to attack me while I’m out here. They’d be a fool to try to break into the palace.”
