Welcome, everyone to our very first Jayvie week!

Jayvie Week is a week long event dedicated to the relationship of Evie and Jay from DCOM Descendants (and subsequent web series/books).

This is our first annual Jayvie Week! We’ve discussed this plenty and each of the three mods picked seven prompts that we then voted for our favorites. We hope they bring out some new lovely creations. We’re super excited to bring this to you!

Please enjoy yourselves and we hope you will join us in the celebration of our favorite Princess and Thief.  

For our first Jayvie week we unconsciously ended up with an AU theme (seriously we all came up with AU prompts it is pretty funny).

Running December 10th to 16th 2018 || Prompts for Days

Day 1 (Dec 10th): Missing Scene/Rotten to the Core AU (the Core Four or simply Evie & Jay stayed on the Isle while other Villain Kids went to Auradon) Day 2 (Dec 11th): DCOM Crossover Day 3 (Dec 12th): Song Fic Day 4 (Dec 13th): Soulmates AU Day 5 (Dec 14th): RomCom AU Day 6 (Dec 15th): Fantasy AU Day 7 (Dec 16th): Superheroes AU

Replacement Options: Kidfic or College Life

We had a 4 way tie for some prompts. So we decided to give you the option to replace any of the above prompt days with one of the two replacement options.

For example, if you aren’t inspired to do anything for Day 5, which is a RomCom au, but Kidfic gives you ideas you can use Kidfic as your prompt for that day and still tag it for day 5. However, you can not replace any of the days for each other. So you can’t do Superheroes for day 1 and Rotten to the Core au for day 7.

Please use the tag #jayvieweek2018 when posting your works. Remember to use the tag as one of the first five tags of your post to help us easily find your work. Please also reblog and help us spread the word as much as possible.

You are free to interpret the prompts in whatever way you see fit. You do not have to create content for each day. If only one prompt gives you inspiration then do that day and that’s perfectly fine! If you get inspired by all of them go for it! Go with what inspires you most. Remember all prompts are a suggestion and not mandatory! Just have fun and be creative!

Does your content have to be shippy? Nope. You can totally write platonic Jayvie if that’s what makes you happy! If you do go the platonic route we do just ask that Evie and Jay not be in a relationship with anyone, we are a Jayvie blog after all. Evie and Jay’s relationship (romantic or platonic) must be the focal point of the story.

Now some rules:

1. Do not post art or edits/graphics that are not yours, we will not accept them. 2. Do not use another artist’s art as a base or trace it. Please be respectful of other people. 3. We will accept NSFW content. Should you do something NSFW please put it under a cut/read more and remember to tag it appropriately! Descendants is loved by fans of all ages and it is mainly targeted for a younger generation, so I can not stress tagging things appropriately enough. People may find certain things uncomfortable with certain content so all NSFW content and triggers NEED TO BE TAGGED. 4. Please do not post a prompt before its due date. This is just so we can keep everything in order and reblog on the appropriate dates. Posting after a due date is fine though!

Time goes and takes the lead

A wee bit late, here’s my first entry for #JayvieWeek, hosted by @jayviesource. This is unbetaed so I apologise for any typos and grammar mistakes. Also I hadn’t written anything for months, therefore please don’t judge me too hard. Enjoy!

Evie was conflicted. According to Maleficent, Mal, Carlos, Jay and herself were to be transferred to Auradon Prep, today, without any further notice. On one hand, she was excited to leave the Isle and discover the land of princes and princesses, even if said population was the reason they were stuck on the Isle in the first place. On the other hand, she was scared. Scared of leaving her life on the Isle behind, as miserable as it's mostly been. Well, at least until she made friends with Carlos, Jay and finally Mal. It wasn't so bad on the Isle when you had friends and she knew how this life worked, how to find the less rotten food, where to go if she needed a safe space, free of her mom. Actually, she would be free of her mom in Auradon too but it wasn't the same. Evie was no fool, she knew they wouldn't get the warmest welcome once they arrive in Auradon yet, she was still hoping she might find friends there too. Friends with the same royal status as hers. That would be quite new.

Lost in thoughts, it took her a while before she noticed Jay trying to catch her eye with his own. That was quite new too, their silent communication. If someone had told her a few weeks ago that the thief, son of Jafar would become one of her best friends, she would have probably laughed at their face. But here they all were, after having faced all the challenges of the Forbidden Fortress, closer than they ever could have imagined. Jay nodded his head slightly to the side and she nodded back, eyeing Mal and Carlos and making sure they were busy doing something else before she followed him. Mal was still arguing with her mother and apparently, Carlos had taken advantage of Maleficent's henchmen being distracted by the scene to flee, at least for the moment. Evie somehow knew they wouldn't be able to escape their upcoming fate for long, knowing Maleficent and her evil plans. No one ever dare questioning her authority on the Isle, Evie had learnt at a very young age. The memories of her lonely childhood forever tainting her.

Once she joined Jay in a nearby alley, far enough away to talk without being heard, he took her hand and gently pulled her towards him until she collided into his chest. Evie couldn't help a giggle as she braced her hands against him, smiling as she felt the anxiety slowly fading away at the contact. Jay smiled back at her but she could see the worry in his eyes, he didn't know what to make of the announcement either. Nor what it meant for them. Evie was not even sure what « they » meant at present. Over the weeks after they managed to outsmart the Forbidden Fortress, they had grown closer together, confiding in each other more than with their two other friends, hanging out as much as possible just because they felt like it and being extremely comfortable with the other's touch. Naturally, Mal and Carlos had noticed but they haven't spoken about it yet, figuring that their friends would tell them whatever there was to tell when they wished to. What could they tell though ? The only thing she knew was that she liked being this close to Jay, almost as if they were an item. Not that there were a lot of those on the Isle so it was not as if they could compare. But as far as she was aware, Jay was as fond as her of these moments of peace and quiet, cuddled together on the worn out sofa of their hideout or simply holding the other's hand when no one was watching. They didn't even do it consciously, it was just easier if less people were aware of their newfound closeness.

Jay bit his lower lip, his eyes downcast as he started to speak, his teasing tone hiding his real emotions, as Evie predicted.

“So... Auradon, hum ? I bet you can't wait to meet all those preppy princes.”

Evie let out a sigh. During the past few weeks she had starting to discover a side of Jay unknown to her before, a softer one. He was protective, everyone knew that but behind closed doors his tone was less cocky, quieter. Her gaze was unwavering as she answered.

“We'll see about that. For the moment, I'm fine where I am.”

She smiled and cupped his cheek with her hand. It wasn't the first time they kissed, but as everything between them, they didn't talk about it, both unsure what to say or how to define their relationship. As she gently pressed her lips against his, his hold on her waist tightened to bring her even closer and kiss her deeper. When she felt Jay's tongue on her lower lip, she parted her lips to grant him access. Evie shivered as their tongues met and started a languid, almost playful dance. The bluenette could feel something shifting between them, the intensity of it all almost overwhelming her. It felt good though and she sighed when it was time to pull away. Jay was still not looking at her, his eyes riveted to her lips.

“I know things are going to change once we get there but it doesn't have to be everything...”

The urge to keep their connection was stronger than her uncertainity as she finally dared voicing their silent fears. At last, Jay's eyes met her again and he tilted his head to the side, doubtful.

“We both know you can't pomise that, Princess. And I won't hold you to it, that'd be unfair.”

Evie couldn't help the tears she felt were coming, although she had no idea why, when did she get so clingy? Jay caught her expression right away and tried to comfort her.

“Hey ! There's no need for that, please. You know I don't fair well with tears.” It was a joke, Evie knew that but she didn't feel like laughing at the moment so she just shrugged.

“I would still need you by my side there-”

He interrupted before she could ask : “Of course I'll be with you. If you need someone to beat them up for you or, a friend.”

Evie's smile grew wider at his words and she went and hugged him tightly. She barely felt his lips leaving a kiss on her hair and she closed her eyes. Whatever this connection was between Jay and her, she had a feeling it could only blossom into something greater, even with their looming new life in Auradon.

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before  —  Jayvie Week Day 5 (RomCom AU)

“My letters are my most secret possessions. There are five total : Gil from camp, Jay from 7th grade, Carlos from Homecoming, Harry Hook from the theater club and Ben. I write a letter when I have a crush so intense I don't know what else to do. Rereading my letters reminds me of how powerful my emotions can be, how all-consuming. And Uma would say I'm being dramatic, but I think drama can be fun... Just as long as nobody else knows about it.”

When Evie’s letters are mysteriously sent to her five crushes, her non-existent love life suddenly becomes animated, with quite a bit of drama; which is not as much fun as it seemed...
