This must have been some of the background reading material that Richard Armitage accessed during his research for the role of Thorin in Peter Jackson’s triology. If you read online, you don’t have to download, you can see Tolkiens original names for his characters. The image above is really only an idea created from this very rare document of the Life of The Hobbit as it first appeared in Tolkien’s mind. I’m going to enjoy reading some of the earliest recorded drafts.
