New stable release (20140704)
Finally, I've managed to get to a point where I can mark a release stable. The defining feature of this release is loading/saving from a config file.
In order to fully utilize this feature, you need something labeled "JUSTDATA". This can be USB thumbdrive, harddrive partition, or even a floppy disk should work. Simply utilize your favorite disk partitioner to create the label (depending on the tool used this may be destructive).
The partition/drive/media should be formatted as fat16/fat32, ext2/ext3/ext4, or brtfs. The following are not supported: exfat, hfs+, zfs, other. If succesful justbrowsing.cfg will be created. You can edit it outside of JustBrowsing if you wish (newlines will be sanitized).
For those of you using a Virtual Machine:
VirtualBox users: the .OVA now comes bundled with a HDD labeled JUSTDATA
QEMU users: download JUSTDATA.img (to same directory as .ISO file) and use with qemu-iso script
Notable improvements include:
GUI settings: default browser, locale, keymap (with ibus where needed), custom homepage, force clean profiles
Reworked syslinux menus (locale/keymap and VM)
Better i3lock-sentry
jbxkb keyboard layout switcher tray applet
battery tray applet for laptops
More fonts, GPU and wifi firmware
Torrent download option
Now to talk about some known bugs:
