BIOGRAPHY
Jack was born the middle child of a content couple. His parents were entire opposites. His mother was an example of how happy someone could be with living their passion while his father demonstrated how the stability and job security of being an accountant, though lacked a certain something, could be rewarding in economical ways. The latter had been a problem for his mother during her single days, who learned that the term ‘starving artist’ was no joke. This was why, as Jack grew up, he was encouraged to pursue whatever he liked, but only as a hobby and nothing more. His mother, a talented dancer herself, instilled her same passion into her son. Soon, instead of participating in sports teams or any of the educational after school clubs that his father would have preferred, Jack had joined the cheerleading squad. At first, it was assumed that he was onto something further, probably only chasing after the girls, spotting them to get his hands on them. In reality, he wasn’t touching anything or anyone except the bullhorn in his hands. Even his mother was surprised to learn that instead of being the performer, he was the one helping the coach in arranging the cheerleaders. As much as Jack wanted to fight it, when he took the trophy for first place in the cheerleading regional championship, the rush was too much. This was it, this was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life and no fancy car or stability would change that.
Jack was kind, a mild pain in the ass at times, but overall kind. However, over time, with trophies to prove that not only was he good at dancing but at teaching it and arranging it too, he became more of a hot head. It took a whole week at BCA before he sat down in his place. The amount of talent that poured through the halls was humbling. For the first time since he had found his talent, he doubted himself. He was a good dancer, sure, but nowhere near the talents of others, at least that’s how he saw it. He spent most of freshman and sophomore year envying the accomplishments of others and fulfilling his general education requirements than actually enjoying the few courses relevant to his major. Often, he found himself considering his father’s career and how maybe what he was doing should have remained a hobby. Fortunately, one of mom’s phone calls later, he was good to go. Now that he has begun his junior year, his confidence has returned along with his wanting to be more involved with the school. He remains the occasional pain for everyone with his ill-timed jokes and is bossier than ever behind a bullhorn (rumor has it there’s probably a petition out there to have his bullhorn privileges nationally revoked) but he’s learned to accept the greater talent around him.
Though occasionally insecure of his own self, Jack is the perfect pick-me-up for just about everyone else. He’s terribly blunt and straightforward with his criticism but it’s precisely that which allows everyone to know that when he compliments, he means it, and he seems to always know the perfect time to do it. Not everyone takes his criticism lightly or sees it as generous, though, leading to Jack’s fair share of enemies. Still, with his major finally coming into full play, he plans to enjoy school at its full potential.
