i’m alive just busy with school and work but wanted to pop in just to say that @mypoisonedvine is one of the most talented writers on here and they deserve all the praise that gets thrown their way - HOWEVER i sincerely hope more people start to recognize what all goes into writing.

it’s more than just writing up a few thousand words and calling it a day. you gotta plot out your next steps, connect pieces together, throw in new information that ties in with future chapters…SO much goes into writing whether that be fanfics or not and it’s sad to see how many people just don’t appreciate what fic writers do.

nobody on tumblr is getting paid to write fics - we do this because we enjoy it and want to make others and ourselves happy. this isn’t our career and the negativity that’s been getting shoved at writers recently is extremely disheartening. there’s going to be stories that just don’t end the way you want to and you just gotta roll with it! writers can’t cater to everyone’s needs and ultimately it’s what the writer wants, not the readers. people need to realize that unless someone asked for an opinion, you don’t need to say how you feel! the more negativity that arises, the less people want to write and produce content. it’s something to think about moving forward.

jd, i’m so incredibly proud of all the hard work you’ve put into hml and i cannot wait to sit down and read it in it’s entirety. you deserve a nice break and i hope that you can look past the negativity enough to at least enjoy the praise. you’re the best and deserve all the kind words!
