No matter if there's an actual lore reason for why the Just Dance team does not want the fandom to ship Jacklust, they are still overstepping by trying to police the way fans engage with their lore and game.
If Jack and Wanderlust are related - well, that might be awkward in the future, but as of now, as far as we, the fandom, know, they are not related. If they are related and that's why the team is acting like this, they should tell us.
If the dancers are uncomfortable with it - well first of all we're writing about the characters, it's not like we're writing RPF of the dancers, but also again: they should tell us that and let people make their own decisions on whether they want to continue shipping Jacklust.
Also, I feel like the Just Dance team is almost vehemently against people using anything other than the confirmed canon? Like, ok. The lore master said Jacklust isn't canon - so what? Shipping and headcanons do not care about canon. See again the point on trying to police how your fans interact with your work.
Last thing: they could have just not acknowledged it. They could have just not acknowledged it. If it makes them so annoyed or even if there's an unrevealed valid reason for why they dislike people shipping it - they could have just not acknowledged the existence of the ship.
TLDR: If there's any valid reason that makes the Just Dance team dislike the Jacklust ship - whether it is relation or the dancers being uncomfy with it - they should TELL US!!! As long as they don't tell us things like this they can't try to police what the fanbase does just based on information that the team is holding back! They should have just ignored its existence instead of what they did (which was overstepping creator-fandom boundaries).
