Imagine: Jeffrey coming home early and surprising you
The grocery store ended up being a quick trip, which you loved, but you almost wished it wasn’t. Because that quick trip just meant that you were spending another week alone while the love of your life spent his in Georgia filming.
But before you went to put your stuff away, you made your way to your room. The perks of being home alone and not having to do anything meant you could lounge around bra-less and in sweats the entire time.
So that was your plan. Get out of your shopping clothes, throw on sweats, put away the groceries and spread across the couch with a pint of ice cream and a good movie.
Making your way down the hall, you slowed your pace when you saw the bedroom door cracked open. When you were home alone, the doors were either all the way open or shut, so that put you on edge.
You listened for any type of noise as you got closer, but heard none, so you proceeded with caution. But your jaw fell slack once you pushed your door open.
“Surprise!” Jeffrey smiled big as he spread his arms.
“When did you get here?” you asked, still shocked to see him.
“Oh, about an hour ago.” he sat up on the bed more as you got closer and reached out, resting his hands on your hips.
“But....I thought you said you were going to be working all week.”
“Yeah, well......some things changed and they had to move the schedule around.” he pulled you closer, his hands now settling on your rear.
“I missed you.” you said softly, sliding your arms around his neck.
“I missed you too.”
“I didn’t grab much from the store, so....I don’t know what to do for dinner.”
“That’s alright.” he pulled himself up so now he was towering over you. “We’ll just order something out tonight.” he smiled before pressing his lips against yours.
“How long do I have you for?” you mumbled against his lips.
“A couple days.” You hummed, capturing his lips again.
“I should get out.” you whispered against his lips. But he only hummed in response, his hands not moving from your hips. “I’m going to be late for work.”
“Call in.” he said quickly before molding his lips back to yours.
“I can’t do that.”
“Yes you can.”
“Jeff.” you whined, forcing yourself to pull away so he couldn’t reach your mouth. “I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“Because. I....I just can’t.” He sighed heavily, dropping his head briefly.
“I’m only home until tomorrow night.” he stated, making your heart sink.
He saw you thinking it over, seeing how conflicted you were. He knew you loved your job, but he missed you more than anything in that moment.
“It’s okay. Go ahead.” he sighed, letting his hands drop from your sides. “I’ll see you tonight. I’ll make dinner or something.”
You know he tried so hard to sound okay with it, but you knew he didn’t want you to go anymore than you wanted to.
“I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay.” he replied quickly. “Really, it’s fine. Don’t worry about it.” his hands met your hips again and he kissed you lightly. “I love you.”
“I love you too.” He kissed you once more and then you opened the glass door, grabbing your towel and quickly shutting it as to not let out all the hot air.
He sighed again, watching as you dried off and left the room. In a perfect world he could be with you all the time, but you both had jobs that kept you busy, and you loved them. So, that wasn’t the case.
