As Maira began to share what she overheard, I began to write as fast as I could.
MAIRA- “Well, they said that Jennie was getting sick, and her girlfriend told her it sounded like she might be pregnant, so they bought a test, and sure enough it was positive. Apparently she wasn’t too happy about it either, but her mom was even more unhappy when Jennie told her. Emilio told his mom and dad that Jeanan Baker started pacing the living room yelling at Jennie...
JEANAN- “Jennie Lynn Baker!! How could you!? Seriously what were you thinking??”
JENNIE- “Mom, it wasn’t like I meant---”
JEANAN- “Does that matter, Jennie?, no!! No one MEANS to, unless they are married and PLANNING a family. You are almost out of High School, and now this? Is that boy going to quit school and get a job, can he support you AND a baby!!??”
JENNIE- “I am going to finish---”
JEANAN- “WHAT!? You plan on going back to school, PREGNANT!? Do you know what that will do to my channces of becoming Mayor?! It is not going to happen if this gets out. The entire Village will be talking. You destroyed my political ambitions, along with your own life...”
JENNIE- “So, that’s all you care about isn’t it. Don’t worry mother, I will do the right thing for me and my baby!”
MAIRA- “So apparently she called Emilio, he told his parents, and they agreed to help them so, I heard Jennie is moving out of her house and moving in with the Hollands!!
