It certainly is a gift from the stars or destiny that I am directing a documentary about the "Notre Dame family", all those absolutely dedicated men and women who try to rebuild, secure, bring the cathedral back to life after the terrible fire on April 15th. Because the cathedral is so much a part of my life, its beauty has given me hope and joy every day when I was passing by. Seeing it burn broke my heart ...so it is a healing process for me too to make this movie for @artetv. Olivier de Chalus is one of them, he is installing an exhibition where we can discover parts of the cathedrals soul. An impressive piece is one of the bronze statues of the altar made in 1989 by the French artist Jean Touret. One of the statues was hit on the head by a stone from the vault falling into the church.
