Educator, saxophonist, and composer Charles McPherson just recently played the Jazz Standard in NYC with this quintet featuring Brian Lynch on trumpet, Jeb Patton on piano, Billy Drummond on drums, and Ray Drummond on bass. Dr. Charles McPherson was just awarded an honorary doctorate of fine arts from California State University for his many musical achievements as well as his hands on role as one of this country's leading music clinicians. Charles hails from Detroit and has recorded and toured with the likes of Dr. Barry Harris, Charles Mingus, Charles Tolliver, Nat Adderley, and Don Patterson.
