31.12.17 | A little over a month ago I dove headfirst into an experience that forced me to be vulnerable. I bared my soul for 25 minutes publicly in front of a crowd and shared a short story about my formal relationship with death. Talking about the different shades of death at @jeddah_cm was equally exciting and scary to do. Sharing a personal struggle in surviving not one, nor two, but multiple tragedies in the hopes that someone will relate and find comfort in the fact that they are not alone is terrifying. But I did it. And it was liberating. Expanding the boundaries of preexisting definitions and finding a new meaning to death takes away its power. It doesn’t mean it’s not scary. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t hurt when it happens. But it helps you heal faster and find a purpose to the life you are given and still have. I don’t have it all figured out. I’d be a hypocrite if I claimed so. But I’d like us to start writing our own anthropology, one that will talk about us, a narrative shaped day by day as we interact with the space and time we occupy. A project forever prolonged in the infinite, even after our passing. #Jeddah_CM #Death #2017highlight
