Shaak Ti: Gentle Storm ANIMATION
The Resonance of Marrow
The planetoid of Voris-6 did not possess a voice so much as a persistent, low-frequency hum that vibrated through the hollows of Shaak Ti’s montrals. To a Togruta, the world felt like a tuning fork struck by a god and buried in wet silt. It was a place where the Outer Rim’s light failed to penetrate the thick, amber-colored atmosphere, leaving the landscape in a perpetual state of jaundiced twilight. Shaak Ti moved through the knee-deep fog with the grace of a predatory ghost, her white and blue lekku twitching as they mapped the ultrasonic echoes of a dying ecosystem.
The colony of Oakhaven was gone, but not destroyed in the traditional sense. There were no scorch marks, no shell casings, no signs of thermal detonators. Instead, the prefab durasteel structures had been peeled open like overripe fruit. The metal was curled back in neat, terrifying spirals, revealing interiors filled with a thick, pulsating lichen that smelled of copper and old honey. Shaak Ti ignited her lightsaber, the sapphire blade casting a cold glow against the sickly yellow mist. The silence was not empty; it was heavy, pregnant with the weight of a thousand held breaths.
"You are listening to the wrong things, Jedi," a voice drifted from the fog, smooth as polished obsidian. "You listen for the heartbeat, but you ignore the rhythm of the decay. One is a beginning, the other is an eternal masterpiece."
Shaak Ti turned, her boots silent on the spongy ground. Emerging from the gloom was a man who seemed to be composed of more shadows than flesh. He wore robes of tattered silk that trailed behind him like the fins of a deep-sea predator. His skin was the color of a bruised plum, and his eyes—large, unblinking orbs—held no pupils, only a swirling vortex of crimson smoke. This was Vaxen Karne, the sculptor of flesh, the man who had turned the sector into a gallery of biological horrors.
"Vaxen Karne," Shaak Ti said, her voice a calm anchor in the shifting fog. "The Council spoke of your eccentricities. They failed to mention you had abandoned your humanity entirely."
Karne laughed, a sound like dry leaves skittering over a tombstone. He gestured languidly to the shadows behind him. "Humanity is a narrow corridor, Master Ti. I have stepped out into the courtyard of the infinite. Do you not feel the harmony here? I have taken the local fauna—the mindless, the scavenging—and I have given them a purpose. I have made them into a symphony."
From the darkness, the beasts emerged. They were not creatures of nature. One resembled a nexu, but its skin had been replaced with transparent membranes, revealing a second, smaller skeleton pulsing within its ribcage. Another was a mass of avian wings and insectoid legs, stitched together with glowing purple filaments of Dark Side energy. They did not growl; they vibrated, their very presence a cacophony of biological wrongness that grated against Shaak Ti’s heightened senses.
"You haven't created life, Karne," Shaak Ti said, her grip tightening on her hilt. "You have trapped it in a state of perpetual screaming. I can hear them. Every cell in their bodies is crying out for the peace of the Force."
Karne stepped closer, his movements liquid and disturbingly sensual. He did not seem afraid of the Jedi’s blade. "Screaming? No, Master Ti. That is the sound of evolution being hurried along. You, of all people, should understand. Your people are hunters. You know the thrill of the chase, the intimacy of the kill. Why settle for the mundane when you can inhabit the sublime? Look at you. The Togruta form is a masterpiece of sensory reception. Imagine what I could do with those montrals of yours. I could tune them to hear the thoughts of the stars themselves."
He reached out a long, spindly finger, not to strike, but as if to caress the air between them. "Join me. Not as a servant, but as a muse. We could rewrite the biology of the Outer Rim. We could turn this wasteland into a garden of sentient beauty where no one ever has to die because no one is ever truly finished."
Shaak Ti’s expression remained a mask of Jedi serenity, though the psychic pressure of the beasts around her was like a physical weight. "Your garden is a graveyard, Karne. And your 'seduction' is nothing more than the vanity of a man who fears his own insignificance. You control these beasts because you cannot control yourself."
Karne’s smile didn't falter, but his eyes darkened, the crimson smoke within them turning to a violent, oily black. "A predi …(more at https://www.deviantart.com/jadegretzai). "I never needed to beat you, I only had to let you think you were invincible."
Here's Satele Shan for you all. I love her character so much and she reminds me of a more mature version of Bastila.
Dooku is the perfect foil for Anakin. He hates Anakin because he admittedly sees himself in him, he’s jealous that he’s the new ‘favorite’, now. And Anakin hates Dooku because he humiliated him on Geonosis, took his arm, and represents what he might (and inevitably will) become. https://www.instagram.com/p/CV5n6w2pH0L/?utm_medium=tumblr
Stellan Gios’ nightmare I loved so much the horrific side of the Fallen Star. So I decided to draw some drawings about this theme.
