"Spring Into Action" designed by Jeff Beynon. Folded by Annalisa. Made from a 35x17.5cm sheet of double-sided kami. (You can't really see it, but the ends and inside are red.) Tutorial by Jo Nakashima available here.
If I had been really on top of things, this would have been a great "Before and After" post. However, I am not that organized, so this is just an "After" post. A few weeks ago, we had a Night at the Arts at my church, and I made a bunch of kinetic origami as part of my display. Mine was the only display you were allowed to touch, so it became a favorite for the under-12 set. However, that put a lot of wear and tear on the models in a very short time, so it's not quite as pretty as when it was first folded, but it's still fun. The top photo is the resting phase, and the other two photos are the two extremes of the model in movement.
